University rebrand

One of my biggest projects whilst working at London South Bank University was to undertake a complete visual rebrand.

Tasked with giving the university a more vibrant, contemporary and engaging look to better reflect the student body and the university’s location in central South London, I worked up an entirely new colour palette, photography style and graphic approach to overhaul how the university presented itself.

The result was a range of bold new communications that better resonated with the university’s audience and community, and led to a surplus in applications.

The new brochures I produced showcased the vibrancy and energy of the rebrand. The new photography showed real students in real settings.

I developed a new way of presenting imagery, using multiple images per page to create movement and dynamism. The style was reminiscent of a social media page, creating an instant connection with the viewer and strengthening the idea that the images reflected real student life and were not overly manufactured.
Big, bold copy lines and bright colours, sometimes layered over imagery, added to the energy and impact of the new brand.
